Madness

check this out:
http://www.zymol.com/vintage2.htm

US$1800 for a car wax........

the stuff they put into it, u would think it might be good for the skin as well..........in case any1 is wondering, the container is made of crystal.........and the wax has to be refrigerated to prevent it from spoiling.........

Sighz......

went to change my wheels yesterday.......and.......im not paritcularly satisfied with them.......

first, they arent ANY of those that i had shortlisted before........
second. they are not exactly what i had envisioned for my new ride.....
third, they do not exactly fit the criteria i had originally set out for a set of wheels......

basically, all in all, i had settled for something less in every aspect........and now im kicking myself for doing that.........sighz........

IT'S HERE~!!!!

IT'S HERE~~!!!!!!!

actually got it on friday.....didnt want to post any pics up until i had finished grooming it.......

the opinions so far have been interesting.......

Sis feels that it looks like my old ride........while sitting inside felt like sitting in a handbag.......well, trust her to come up with the weirdest remarks.......

my neighbour likes it.......he says he prefers it to the civic..........

actually given the choice, if my old ride werent.......old........i might have kept it.........i still think hondas rule the road........the rex and evo may be the faster rides on the roads now, i jus think they are jus loud, brash and unrefined. the ITR is still THE car with the CTR a close second.......nothing beats the sound of a vtec engine going nuts........

of course, dun count euro cars........euro cars got special place in my heart also.......
esp porsche *lau nua*

haven changed my wheels yet, more pics after i do.........

D-ARGH~!

a few gripes......

y are they using a schoolgirl for the tv on demand testing advert? during the advert they show her getting low grades and being disappointed but later appeased by watching tv......dun they know that this is the wrong signal they are sending out to students?

i think a colony of ants have moved into my phone and decided to make it their nest.......im referring to my land line phone............lately images of ants crawling into my ear and making my brain their home while im using the phone have been infesting my brain........looks like they've already got one foot in already......

lastly,
WHERE IS MY CAR?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!

D-Something

i really have got to remind myself to empty my handphone inbox regularly......earlier in the day, i had realised that it was full and sms-es were not getting thru........which led me to realise the answer to y i had not recieved any sms-es the past few days.........and when i finally emptied the inbox, 5 days worth of msgs came flooding in.........

this did get me thinking tho............how peaceful it has been over the past few days.......

incidentally, i have been moving ard for the past mth or so without any music to listen to in the car...........the daily journey to and from NTU has been, to my surprise, rather enjoyable.....or at times heart breaking cos of all the creaks and noise the car makes that i normally wouldnt hear with the radio on.........so sad.........if not for its mileage and age, ill gladly keep my precious ride..........

on the whole, it's been rather good.......and im getting pretty used to the quiet..........in this day and age, where we are being constantly bombarded by noise from communication devices and music, it is quite refreshing to be without all those sounds.............at least without the sounds that are controllable..........

D-9 or less

Attended my aunt's 50th bday party yesterday.......was a nice event coordinated by my 18yr old cousin, she called the whole jing gang from frens to family........we surprised her as she was abt to check on her daughter before heading for dinner.......btwn my sis and i, we seldom do this kinda thing, the surprise party stuff and all......so this was our first time - virgins.......anywayz, as at all events, we couldnt help but swop a few remarks abt our aunt and the whole birthday thing in general........

After realising that our cousin is already 18
Sis : I am an old goat.

After realising that our aunt is already 50
Sis I am an old goat

After me telling her she should be an old hag instead of goat cos the latter refers to guyz
Sis : I am an old goat

A day before the party, while brainstorming wat to get for our aunt,
Sis : How about an exercise bike?
Me : Nah, waste money. If she were meant to lose weight, she would have already. Let's get her chocolates.
Sis : Chocolates are too cliche.
Me : Well, it's either we get something to help her lose weight or something to help her gain weight.
*after a while*
Me : Cheongsam? She likes them, and it'll make her think she has lost weight.
Sis : Flowers?
Me : Ok, we'll get something that fits her. Big and loud.

After the party, on our way home
Me : We should have gotten bigger sunflowers.
Sis : Yea, the florist under-estimated her size.

During the party,
Me : I want a 50th bday party too. I'll throw you one, make sure you throw me one too.
Sis : It's ok, I dun want one. y dun you throw a 30th bday party for me?
Me : Nah, it's at the end of this yr. No time.

ARGH

had to attend a recruitment talk earlier today, but prior to it, i had a tutorial to attend, which i did in my formal attire...........and this had to happen..........

an earlier lesson had jus concluded, and the tutor was fielding some questions from some students when i walked into the room...........

Tutor : Is this your class now?
Me : Yea. I'm having the next lesson.
Tutor : oops, sorry sorry. *starts to usher her students out*

then it suddenly dawned on me........

Me : oh....no no no.......im not the tutor.
Tutor : oh. *stops flustering*

sighz

Blah Blah Blah

Valentine's Day just passed........was at East Coast Park with J for the evening.....evidently the rest of the world had decided that East Coast Park would be a great place to spend V.Day at too........had to first navigate my way through throngs of cars to park my car, and then again through hordes of pple to get food for the both of us.........was a good evening still, minus the smell of bbq clinging to our clothes........

ohyes, and the tons of middle-aged men out with their foreign girlfriends......serious~! it was like east cost park had become the haven for these middle-aged men to carry out their illicit/non-illicit affairs...........

~ . ~

i have given up on the countdown to the arrival of my new car.......it's too torturing, and anywayz i have projects to concentrate on, or at least i need to cover as much as possible before the new car comes and i start obsessing over it..........this final semester seems likely to be the worst one yet.........

so anywayz, considering the new car is coming........and me being me, i need a new set of wheels to go with it.......and the sad thing is, ill be getting back my old set of wheels albeit a larger size (the old set, which i had sold to a fren, were 15". ill be getting 16" this time round)

unfortunately there arent many nice looking & light weight 16" wheels on the market......the really nice ones are all 17". i could get 17" ones.......but that would mean having to hear my heart breaking each time i go over a pot-hole - the tyres would be too thin to cushion the impact...........

sighz........next car maybe...........

this is wat ill be getting :

D-7 I Hope

the torino winter olympics are on tv now...........

has any1 watched luge? it's the sport where u lie on a sled and hurl yourself down a half tunnel of ice, barrelling thru it at insane speeds............can u imagine 120km/h on a sled? think it has to be one of the riskiest sports........within the 5mins i had the tv on, they already had 2 crashes.........one man, on one tiny little sled that he's practically overflowing, crashing at 120+km/h............

at the end of the 5mins, i was feeling less like a man........*balls shrink*

those guyz have guts..........each of them look like they have lost their marbles going into this sport........

D-8 I Hope

been looking arnd for jobs lately, considering if everything goes on smoothly, i shld grad by june.......been attending almost every recruitment talk there is and flipping thru the papers for positions that will accept fresh graduates............have already applied to 2 companies without much luck.......well, bo pianz...........they werent exactly in my field of expertise either, which could explain y i didnt get them...........kinda like taking pot shots at a fly........not exactly, the right way to be fishing for jobs when i dun have the credentials they were looking for, but wat the heck, no harm trying..........

was flipping thru the papers looking for openings earlier.........now im thinking, y dont i go be a chef or baker.........for sats - the catering arm of singapore airlines........wouldnt that be nice.......i would be able to wow the airline passengers with my fantastic culinary skills.....after that come out and set up my catering service or restuarant serving airline food.........there'll be reviews of my restuarant with headings like, "The Best Airline food. Outside of an airline."

or maybe i could join the police force.......the whole coffee and doughnuts thing seems pretty good......forgot, we dun do doughnuts here..........kopi siew tai and ham chim pang then.........i can jus see myself doing that.........go abt my daily routine and patrols, then go home to a wife in a house coat, hair in curlers and wailing kids.......throw myself in front of the telly, grow fat and snore my buns off..........or i could be like vincent ng who plays hunky police officer ricky in "heartlanders".........chase bad guys, take down smuggling rings, date hot chick Steph Soong lookalike reporters before finally settling down with a hot mama with a teenage kid who old enuff to know when to make himself disappear so mom and pops can have a little alone time............

more recruitment talks the next few days.........wish me luck pple........the mood of this blog depends on it.........

D-9 I hope

joel had a recent blog entry abt how to explain the offside rule to females, which was ripped from some other blog:
http://x1243.blogspot.com/

cheryl has a rather lengthy entry on PMS for guyz:
http://pinkserendipity.blogspot.com/

so in the spirit of things, im gonna try and write something as well.........

Painting car bodies:
actually, the steps are pretty much akin to your regular manicure, pedicure....many steps are similar.
1. Wetsanding - Cleaning the surface of your nail and the cuticle.
2. Primer and Pigment coat - Putting on that first layer of polish, with colour.
3. Clearcoat - That clear extra layer you apply on after the colour.

Grooming - for car bodies
this is similar to your daily skin care regiment
1. Washing and Polishing - Exfoliating
2. Sealant - Sunblock, this is optional.
3. Waxing - Moisturize

so, now you see why we have bad skin and lousy nails. and as to y we love our cars to shine and spend so much time on it, it's cos we love our cars the same way we love our girls - waxed.

definitely not my best post so far.......will think of something else later when i get bored again..........

Still D-10

Occam's Razor states:
"Given two equally predictive theories, choose the simpler."
and
"The simplest answer is usually the correct answer."
House M.D. said:
"It might be simple, but it might not be easy."
in layman terms, quoted from one of the warrant officers i worked with in NS:
"Kong Si Eh Kuay"
how interesting that as far as language is concerned, the layman always has a much simpler way of putting things........

dunno abt many of those out there reading this, but i find the above pretty true.....especially for many things i've come across so far........there are so many things to decide on, so many things to understand, so many things to do, so many tasks to fulfill........and many a time, they can be analysed very simply, creating the feeling that things are really that simple........

yea, in fact, many things are that simple........tho very often, to get to that point isnt easy...........in the first place, nobody said that simple things are easy to achieve.........it swings the other way too.......

and jus cause it is troublesome, draining and hard to swallow, doesnt make it complicated........it jus makes you a lesser of a fighter...........

interesting how computer algorithms can be based on centuries old philosophies such as Occam's Razor.......

D-10

the grammys are on tv now.......and........it really seems like one huge mish-mash, chappalang, anyhowly put together awards show..........video clips failing, sounds system failing, presenters smiling dumbly at the camera wondering how come the cam is still on them when the voice over or video clip shld be playing instead...........

seems more like a clown show to me now...........

Still D-10-2

the things you can do when you are at home

any1 can make a guess wat that is? no, i wasnt indulging in a moment of narcissism by spraying whipped cream on the mirror and trying to lick it off my reflection.........i might love myself, and nuts i might be, but im not that extreme.........

neither am i participating in the male version of the makeover reality series "The Swan".

that picture, my frens, is the result of me staying home, having the tv on too much and getting extremely bored sitting in front of the computer.......

that, my frens, is a picture of shaving cream spread on the mirror in my bathroom.

y did i do that? cos there was an episode of "How Clean Is Your House" on tv......and they were teaching some surfer guys how to prevent their mirrors from steaming by spreading shaving cream on the mirror..........

not sure wat type of cream they used........was it gillette or some other brand.......and would allantoin help? i know it moisturizes the skin, wat abt on glass?

D-10-2

this is almost the last straw........i am THIS close to plonking out another $100+ on more car grooming products........reason? the whole world is buying stuff to pamper themselves with while i am being an idiot scrimping and saving my money........

J jus bought new earrings the other day and a t-shirt. just like that.

Mum jus bought herself a new vibrator. a huge one at that. not sure if it is effective tho. Mum seemed extremely pleased after using it tho. my dad was indifferent to it. he was confident enuff of himself and wasnt afraid of his techniques losing out to the vibrator.

i jus tried it abt an hour ago. and im still sore from it.

sighz........and my sis jus got herself a new phone. my bro-in-law got new exhaust for his car.

while here i am trying to scrimp and save and refrain from opening the can of worms that when open, could potentially escalate to pandora's box status.

sighz...........woe is me..........

Still D-10-5

i have a new lava lamp~!

D-10-5

okok, gonna explain my earlier hypothesis

Hypothesis :
Females change handphones more often than males bcos they use the toilet bowl more often than males do.

for those who still dun see the relation btwn using the toilet bowl and changing of handphones, it is quite simple actually........i think it would be a safe bet if i were to say women use the toilet bowl more often than guyz do given that all things else are equal i.e. they have the same digestive habits and they go to the same places and do everything else the same.......in a shopping centre a guy gets to use the urinal, girls jus do their thing the same way they do their.......errr..........other thing.........

so it's safe to say that guys use the toilet bowl less than girls do.........agreed?

so given the lesser number of times we use the toilet bowl, there is a decreased chance of having a handphone drop in the bowl too........

of course there is the argument that if the toilet bowl were being sat on, there wouldnt be a chance of the phone dropping in at all..........yea, but a general survey carried out, on 2 friends revealed that they had dropped their phones AFTER they tinkled.........i know one had flushed prior to the incident, not sure abt the other..........so wat's the rationale behind the hypothesis? since this has shown that it is not the position that affects the course of events.......

actually, IT IS the position that either members of gender utilises that has affected the course of events.........

when a guy.....errr......squirts? pees........(lost my train of thought there)......he does it standing and with both hands occupied (for the benefit of the uninformed ladies in the house, we need to aim, shake, zip and buckle), he doesnt have the extra limbs to handle a phone while peeing

whereas for a female, she pees.......tinkles........sitting down, leaving her to do wat she does best - multitask i.e. make up, waxing, reading, talking on the phone..........which leads to a situation where she gets up with the phone stuck btwn her ear and her shoulder while trying to pull her pants up or undies, if she happens to be wearing a skirt..........and in a moment of flurry........*plop*............

and thus, is the reason behind why females change handphones more often than guys do......

i dun really wanna go into the depth of water that affects the functionality of the phone after its escapades mainly cos there is not much water in a urinal.......mainly uric acid.......

one thing we all can learn from this is that, nokia makes better phones than panasonic does........the panasonic phone could not be revived despite numerous attempts at cpr (i.e. coaxing, girls like to talk to their toys), whilst the nokia had been awarded a medal of valour, for service and bravery beyond its call of duty........

i really need to concentrate more on writing my project report..........

D-10-7

grouchy as i am already, the mitsubishi SE had to go burst my sole little bubble of joy by saying he made a mistake in the car collection date and that i would only get it a wk later from the earlier reported date of 12th Feb..........

have a feeling he allocated the car to someone else instead..........knn.........

D-10

isnt it fantastic that i stayed home instead of attending the first 2 lessons of the day? i have managed my first 2 post/day since.........the last 2 post/day.......

anywayz, something to ponder abt........came up while on the phone with J earlier.......

Hypothesis:
females change phones more often than males bcos they use the toilet bowl more frequently than males.

go figure......will post my reasoning later on..........goodie.......

ohyes, jus got an sms from my dad..........car collection on the 12th~! woot~!

The Morning Post

contemplating on whether i shld head to sch for the first lessons........

i shld be going........

i dun feel like it........

i shan't go.......

wanted to post something abt an article i read a few days back in the papers........was abt the quarter life crisis and it reflected the sentiments of the author who was/had turned 25.......but then, im finding myself at a loss for words..........nothing's registering much in my brain......im beginning to think im turning into a mindless singaporean citizen with the sole aim of pursuing material gain till the day i kick it..............

then again, i think it's cos i havent been posting much.........losing my writing mojo........i shld write more........

~ . ~

wat's one of the most torturing feelings that a person can feel in this world? well, right now, im gonna say it would be anticipation - the torture of waiting.......

right now, im anticipating the arrival of a phone call.........the one that will tell me my new car is ready for collection..........have been plying the expressways to and fro without any music to accompany me over the past few wks...........had sold my old radio to a fren and thrown in a spoilt one ready for the car to be scrapped with............

it's a very interesting thing actually..........the effects of music on pple..........ive noticed a significant drop in mood levels whenever i stay away from music for extended periods of time.........like in NS, during my first few weeks in BMT when i did not bring my trusty little radio with me........those wks were pretty moody.........in OCS, you could see the relief on the face of my bunk mate's face when i whipped out my radio.........and the days when the batteries went flat were the moodiest............

it is unbelieveable how a little music can lift moods tremendously.........

so, yep, im extremely grouchy as of late...........and it doesn't help much when an 80kg indian sitting in the passenger seat tries to improvise by singing "Kiss Me" or new year songs throughout the trips to and from sch.............

that's not music, that's one of the other tortures a person can endure.........

~ . ~

aunt came over to visit this lunar new year.........and she wanted to take photos with the family........when it came to my turn, she jus had to comment that i looked older than she did.......

jus how do u hold a smile in front of a camera when your 50+ yr old aunt tells you, a 20+ year old nephew, that you look older than she does?

i havent the foggiest........
