Sit Down!

I had spent the previous weekend in Phnom Penh with S and it was just fantastic - the company and the country. Yea, undeveloped relative to SG but we discovered enough dining gems that boosted its ratings in my book.

funny incident occurred while on the flight back. it has more or less cemented the impression i have of budget airlines in my head. the short of it is, service was bad. atrocious not because it they did not serve well, but atrocious because of one single incident where the flight attendant actually shouted and forced a passenger to sit down while the "seat belts on" sign was illuminated. here is how it went.

The plane had hit some turbulence...

Man: *Gets up from front of plane to head to the lavatory at the back*
Flight Attendant: *Shouts from the back of the plane* Sir, please sit down! The seat belt sign is on!
M: But I need to go to the toilet...
FA: No, sir! The seat belt sign is on! Sit down!
M: But ....
FA: Sir, please sit down!
M: *Drops into an empty seat beside him looking bewildered*

When the turbulence passed....

Man: *Raises his hand meekly and asks the flight attendant still at the back of the plane* Can I go to the toilet now?
