The Pursuit of Happyness

now, it's happyness with a "y" not "i" ladies and gentlemen.........that above line came from the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson. think most would know by now, this next post is gonna be abt my views on the latest movie starring Will Smith.

well, first off, the show was really really........wet. my left sleeve was wet with tears. not my own. but from J. she practically weeped through the entire show. my gf is a sucker for sob stories. from where i stand, it seems that the wetter my sleeve gets, the better the show..........ohyes, the amount of snot on my sleeve does help in the ratings as well.........

what can i say, i am bowled over by the show. fantastic. and the ending, very very good. although it was an ending that evry1 knew was coming, it was powerful enough yet so simple and short. the whole show was jus fantastic. i think i need to go watch forest whitaker in the king of scotland first before i understand why will smith did not win the oscar for best actor.

i knew of the story of chris gardner before watching the show. not the full story, but i did catch an episode of oprah (or something) a few years back and he was in it telling his story. watching the movie, i was initially expecting a really glorified version of his tale. but that's not wat i got. it wasnt glorified at all. maybe cos there wasnt the big grand finale with fanfare kinda music and scenes of mad euphoria. the whole story felt real enough and very believeable. i felt like i could actually relate to him and would logically do exactly the same things he did if i were in his shoes. except i would probably jus laid down and died from all the mental strain and emotional battering.

but like i said, the ending sold me. best ending to a movie ive seen for quite a while now.
