Rationalism

Is it just me or why do lectures seem extremely inefficient in conveying ideas to students?

then again, all humans are jus ineffective/inefficient communicators........really.......we either get too engrossed in trying to convey an idea or get too caught up with 'noise' to actually listen to wat the idea being conveyed is......

anywayz, back to the thing abt lectures........it seems that for every 10mins of lecture, only 2-3mins of it is actually spent on conveying an idea while the remaining 7-8mins are used to repeat that idea........

so basically wat happens is that a student, similar to myself, will only be listening to a lecture for 2-3mins for every 10mins.........the remaining time is spent falling asleep......

and as we all know, it is extremely difficult and troublesome to keep waking up and sleeping over and over again......so normally a student, such as myself, will end up listening to the first 2-3mins of every lecture and then sleep the remaing 57-58mins..........

now, this is where online lectures become extremely useful.........

a student, such as myself, will be able to maximise the use of his time.........he'll be able to play minesweeper and stay awake while waiting for the next idea to come on for him to comprehend........either that or he can blog, such as wat im doing now, while waiting.........and shld he find himself no longer concentrating on the lecture anymore, similar to this point in time, he can jus click and start off where he lost concentration...........

duncha jus love rationalising skipping sch? :)
